The Inside Scoop by Nick Guerra
If you don't know of this story, then you have no TV. Yes this was a parody on Steve Irwin's
death. We weren't trying to make fun of it, so much as make the idea silly. A stingray floating
around a house. Now that's bad luck. The strip didn't originally say "Crikey" but we needed
to make sure the readers knew it was a stingray in the air. I think if it said nothing, no one
would have gotten the joke. Now in order to take the "meaness" of the idea we used a method most
comedians do when they feel they've crossed the line. Blatantly say it. And now we are scot free
of judgement. Heh!
